About Episode Silver: 130 Years of Indian Silverware Craft
More than a century ago, tucked away in a corner of Peshawar Cantonment, G.M. Whorra ran a small shop supplying silverware to the European army units stationed in India
1882-1947
HISTORY
When Royalty visited India in the late 19th Century, the Whorras were called upon to hand-craft gifts and mementoes to honour War Heroes with the best quality Silverware.
Dignitaries visiting our country, including Heads of States, carried back mementoes made in our workshops.
1947-1978
DESIGN
Over the years, the Whorra family has been creating revolutionary designs in line with changing consumer preferences.
Over the last century, our design influences have been wide and varied. From Classical Silver to Victorian designs, the minimalistic shapes of the 1930’s, the turbulent period of experimentation with 'Art Deco' forms, a reversal to Victorian ornamentation; and finally classical shapes where simplicity enhances the beauty of silver.
We are known for beautiful, functional silverware with unmatched quality.
1978-2021
EPISODE
In 1978, Deepak Whorra, 5th generation of the Whorra family, started Whorra Enterprises, a silverware export house.
Joined by his brother, Sanjiv Whorra, in 1980, they expanded to the European and American markets, supplying products to clients like Armani, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang and more.
In 2001, Episode was created to bring design-based silverware to the Indian market. Since then, Episode has been known across the country for their high-quality products and exceptional design. Together, they brought a unique synergy to the table; Deepak designed and Sanjiv executed.

Handcrafted in India
Our in house manufacturing facilities employ third-generation skilled craftsmen and artisans. All our products are designed, hand-crafted and manufactured in India.
1947 – Partition & Relocation
The Partition of 1947 forced the Whorra family to leave Peshawar. They relocated first to Jaipur, then Lucknow, before settling in Delhi — carrying with them not just their tools but their reputation and, crucially, their ability to attract the finest craftsmen in the country. The Delhi workshop that emerged from this migration became home to the artisans who laid the foundation for everything that followed.
2021 – A New Chapter
Following Deepak Whorra's retirement on health grounds, Sanjiv Whorra acquired full ownership of Episode and took over as its sole operator. After a thorough post-pandemic audit of operations, that stabilisation work is complete: Episode is profitable, and the Noida manufacturing facility remains fully operational. Today the brand operates retail outlets in Greater Kailash 1 (Delhi), Worli (Mumbai), Kolkata, Chandigarh and Lucknow, alongside its e-commerce presence at episodesilver.com.
