Rakhi Kavach is a silver rakhi set with a single amber stone inside an openwork medallion cut with a scrollwork pattern. Made in 92.5 sterling silver, finished with Episode's tarnish-resistant plating for lasting shine. This piece comes with an Episode certificate of authenticity and a guarantee card. The scrollwork reads as a shield when the medallion catches the light, in keeping with the kavach, or armour, the name refers to, strung on a braided thread in cream and grey-blue tones.
Rakhi Kavach is manufactured at Episode's own Noida facility, where design, electroforming and finishing are handled in house. Episode Silver has been designing silverware since 2001, carrying forward a family silver-making lineage that goes back to 1882. The same in-house design team works across Episode's wider portfolio of more than 5,000 designs.
Kavach means armour, and Raksha Bandhan is already a festival about protection, so the two ideas sit naturally together here. A cotton thread can only stand in for that promise; a silver one, shaped like a shield, comes closer to actually looking like it.
It arrives in a premium, fabric-covered box with a magnetic lid, finished with a silver ribbon, making it ready to gift as is. You can also personalize it, adding your engraving details directly at checkout. To keep the finish bright, wipe gently with a soft, moist flannel cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or silver polish, as these can affect the tarnish-resistant coat.

Cleaning:
Silver tarnishes when in contact with atmospheric Sulphur. To prevent tarnishing, regular usage of products is recommended. Products should also be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth regularly.
Food:
Salt and certain acidic foods are harmful to silver, burning it's surface and leaving permanent black spots. After usage, products should be well rinsed and dried with a soft, dry cloth.
Storage:
While storing, wrap the product is a soft, felt cloth and then in an airtight bag or container. Dampness encourages tarnishing and can also harm wooden components so store the products in clean, dry and airtight cupboards.
Tarnish:
Heavily tarnished products can be cleaned with various silver polishes. These polishes are available at our store and you can purchase the polish and use it with a dry cloth to clean the products at home. Alternatively, we can also clean the products for you at any of our stores.
